Cagle’s 1,000 employees enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers, and a free t-shirt from the company, as a part of a celebration honoring over 6,000,000 manhours (over three years) of NO LOST TIME INJURIES.
     The Cagle’s plant is located in Collinsville, Ala., and has been in operation since 1968. The plant was then known as the Big Willis processing plant. Cagle’s purchased the plant from its previous four owners

in 1970.
     More than three-and-a-half million pounds of live chicken enter the plant each week. The company participates in the entire spectrum of the poultry industry by contracting growers, supplies, feed and chickens, as well as actually processing the birds. More than 75 percent of the poultry is sold to fast-food chains and food services such as cafeterias and delis.
