The
Association held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the long awaited completion
of its new Montgomery office building. Construction on the building, which has
been in use for the last 18 months, was postponed pending a decision from the
board of directors on what to do with the extra space. After only a short while
at the new location, Association board members realized the need for a larger
meeting space and appropriated funds for that purpose.
The new addition is a 1700 square-foot space with restrooms,
a catering kitchen, and multi-purpose open area for hosting meetings, educational
seminars, receptions and legislative events.
Board members and guests alike were impressed with
the finished product when it was debuted at the annual Christmas Open House
on December 10. AP&EA Executive Director Johnny Adams felt the addition
would serve the needs of the Association for a long time to come.
“This space will adequately accommodate
the various Association functions that are essential to our industry’s
success,” said Adams. Association President Roddy Sanders shared his sentiments.
“I’m excited to have the new addition completed,”
said Sanders. “I feel we have a building that should take care of our
needs for a long time.”
