As we enter a New Year, we have many challenges ahead, and I want to thank you for your past support and ask you to continue to work with me on our common goal of improving our industry. We had a great deal of success last year, and one of the proudest accomplishments that our association made was the completion of our new office building in Montgomery. The final phase of the building was the completion of the meeting area. This space is 1700 square feet with a catering kitchen and
bathrooms, as well as
a multi-purpose open area that can be used for meetings, educational seminars,
receptions and legislative events. The first event held in our new space was
at the annual Association Christmas Open House held December 10 in conjunction
with our winter board of directors meeting. This was an opportunity to show
our appreciation to the many state leaders and employees who attended the
event. By all accounts, our guests were appreciative of our hospitality. We
look forward to utilizing this new space to enhance and improve our industry.
The completed building should serve the Association’s needs well into
the future.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Johnny Adams and our staff: Wanda
Linker, Laura Wheatly, Dana Brindley-Bennett and Robert Voitle for their fine
work last year. Without their commitment to our Association we would not have
accomplished all that we set out to do.
I hope last year was a happy year for you and your family, and I hope this
New Year has prosperous and positive results for us all. The last few years
have been a challenge to our industry and more challenges are on the horizon.
That is why it is so important that we continue to work together, through
our Association, as a team to get through these difficult times. Communication
throughout the poultry industry is more important than ever. It is critical
