The Alabama Poultry & Egg Association is a member-driven organization that depends strongly on the support of its members. It's not unusual for the staff to call and ask the members for help which is always readily available, but it is more unusual for a member to recognize a need and just take care of it.
Bud Holcomb, south central territory sales manager with Cobb-Vantress, did just that recently. He saw that the Association needed a large cooler for its meeting room and proceeded to do something about it.
"As a sponsor of AP&EA," Holcomb said, "we are always looking for ways to help. When taking a tour of the office in Montgomery, Wanda showed us the impressive meeting room that was built for meetings and different functions. Billy Tyson, Cobb's southeastern technical service representative, and I noticed that it was very well equipped except they did not have a large cooler. With this in mind, I approached Dr. Aldo Rossi, U.S. sales manager,   and   Stan       Reid,      North      American    regional
manager, about providing AP&EA with a cooler. This was approved and delivered by the help of our friends at Merial-Select, especially Steve Carroll."
AP&EA certainly appreciates the remarkable contribution from Cobb and even more importantly the support from the people at Cobb. "Bud Holcomb is a great friend to AP&EA," said Johnny Adams, AP&EA's executive director. "He goes the extra mile in his support for our organization and its staff."
