National Poultry Waste
Management Symposium

“Balancing Economic and Environmental Issues”

The National Poultry Waste Management Symposium will communicate the latest technology and information regarding poultry waste management. Topics include: Social Considerations, Waste and Nutrient Management, Regulatory and Air Quality Issues, Challenges and Opportunities of Alternative Use Technologies and Processes, and Water and Wastewater Processing. The theme of the 2004 National Poultry Waste Management Symposium is Balancing Economic and Environmental Issues, and this year’s symposium is targeted to meet current and future needs of the poultry industries while responsibly dealing with environmental issues and challenges. The audience focus continues to be mid-level managers and decision-makers at all levels in the poultry production system. We actively encourage participation by growers and independent producers. The Mission of the symposium continues to provide cutting edge, timely, and hard hitting presentations that address the need for comprehensive programs and that assist members of the poultry system in fulfilling their individual and collective environmental protection responsibilities.
The program comprises a general session covering broad topics, followed by concurrent sessions devoted to various production and processing topics. Poster presentations dealing with poultry production and processing by-products will be on display during the symposium. Exhibits of waste processing equipment, environmental services and educational topics will also be displayed during the symposium. Contact the coordinators for information on providing a poster or exhibit. The symposium is scheduled for October24-26, 2004 at the Holiday Inn Select, Airport in Memphis, Tennessee.
